    Synopsis

    Detailed Notes

    The next morning, Strix and Nilkas woke to another message - their contact from the blue torches wants to meet at sundown. Come the end of the day, the pair went into Kaledorei to find a middle-aged human woman with a cup of cider, who introduced herself as Freyja. Her cloak didn't do much to hide her greatsword, but that didn't seem to bother her. Their short conversation introduced the party to her organization - The Sapphire Torch and their goal - to rid the area of the political corruption that's brought rise to groups like the Scarlet Circle, and threatens the well-being of the populace. She told them that, if their interests aligned, the group should follow her out of town to their small base of operations.

    Before leaving the town though, Nilkas ran into some old friends from Bremoor - a pair of thieves named Gash and Brick. Nilkas chose to ignore them for the time being, and continued out of town with the two women. Even that wasn't the easiest of trips however, as just outside the supposed hideout the group was ambushed by some tendril-armed fey, showing them what Freyja was capable of.

    The hideout was close (but not too close) to Kaledorei, in a cave and sporting a hidden locked gate. It wasn't pretty, or very fleshed out, but Freyja introduced the group to some of her compatriots - Astrid the cleric, Calder the group's muscle, and Harlow doing much of the logistics. She mentioned other members, though they weren't there. They talked with Astrid some as she healed their wounds following the scuffle with their ambushers.

    As for the Tuner Strix and Nilkas recovered, Freyja recommended bringing it to the hideout - they had recently cleared out a space for it, and would help to ward off some of the fey creatures that they'd been attacked by on the way here.

    Barely out of the cave, Strix got an unsettling feeling deep in her stomach somewhere that she wasn't sure how to attribute...

    Strix's Notes

    Finally met our mysterious contact, a middle aged, battle scarred woman named Freyja. She is the leader of a group called the Sapphire Torch, and made it clear their goal is to crush abuse of power. She confirmed much of what we knew about the Scarlet Circle, while hinting that they are a fairly small time organization and that they seem to have their sights on bigger targets. Took us to the Sapphire hideout a good ways outside the city and met their members.

    • Freyja - Leader, former Cerule Guard. Brown hair, blue eyes, combat capable.
    • Astrid - Also former Cerule Guard. Fuzzy eyed, the group medic
    • Kaldr - Large half orc, the group muscle
    • Harlo - Glasses wearing halfling, seems to be responsible for recruitment

    Seems there are other members we have yet to meet. Freyja recommended we bring the tuner that we obtained to keep monsters at bay. Will be nice to have somewhere secure to base ourselves out of, but I’m still shook by a foreboding feeling I got…

    Nilkas' Notes

    We got another contact, from our mysterious benefactors to meet them. We met a lass named Freyja who seemed to bet the leader. Seems like she wants to recruit us. Maybe some direction will help me. Fighting for others rather than myself. Or maybe this will at least get us some coins. We left for their hideout and got attacked by some weird creatures. I chose to use my enlarge wand to give me a little reach but got summarily stomped being overwhelmed. Me bleeding out never gets easier. Survived though. Reached the hideout and met the team and got some first aid from Astrid. We were told to bring back the tuner stone. Got some more info on the scarlet circle. Seems that they are planning something. I have a bad feeling about it.
