Strix's Notes

We were ambushed leaving the mine, a lone bowman. Never got a good look at them other than seeing that their bow was decorated with feathers. Thankfully they ran off after missing their shot, but now I’m worried that somebody is out to get us. Going to have to sleep with one eye open, and see if I can find out who this person was.

Investigated an abandoned tower in the mountains not far from the kobold mine. Seems like the place belonged to a wizard studying kobold culture, but we didn’t see anyone other than kobolds in the town. I wonder who the wizard is and where they could be?

Overheard some guards in the inn complaining about wage cuts after that parade celebrating the guards. Seems like some resentment with the baron is brewing. We’ll have to get with the Torch to figure out how we want to investigate and confront Mr. Fawkesmoore…

We’ve taken some much needed time to relax after our kobold misadventure. It feels so nice being back on the farm, though it still feels empty without Artyom, I miss him every day. At the least I’m very glad I have Nils to keep me company now, I love Artyom of course, but an owl is a bit different than a person. Gods, I’m sure Nilkas thinks I’m foolish or deranged naming a bird after my late husband, but he helped me get through my grieving.

I’ve done well enough on my own learning how to knife fight, but I’ve decided I should seek out someone with more experience to teach me a thing or two. Donovan from the thieves’ guild in Kaledorei; a sleazy man, but he certainly knows what he’s doing with a knife.

Nilkas' Notes

Finally back home at the bar. Hearing some more than usual grumblings I decided to silver tongue my way into a nearby  conversation. Seems that the Baron is cutting Guard jobs in town. Should report this to the Sapphire. Much as I am maligned to admit, they do help.

Got a job at the local inn. I think I should wear shirts more often. My chest and physique are deemed too distracting. Found more info talking to customers. A nice distraction to the past few weeks.
