Detailed Notes
Strix
After months of training, Strix believed herself ready enough to take on the Scarlet Circle. She scouted out Kaledorei, and located three shops that appear to be victims of a protection racket, The Butcher & The Bow Tavern, Gilemdir's Leatherworks, and The Blind Tailor, and after more investigation, decided to scope out The Blind Tailor, dressed as the vigilante Bronzewing.
Through sheer luck, she seems to have called it right, as by the time night was beginning to fall, 4 men approached the storefront, leaving one on the street corner as the other 3 drew their weapons and headed inside, holding up the shop, hearing the sounds of some tense discussion.
After a moment's hesitation, she drew her hand crossbow and snuck toward the man on the corner... closer and closer until she was finally close enough to issue a warning, only for the man to up and allow her inside, following her in.
Nilkas
After traveling multiple days traveling from Bremoor to Kaledorei to perform a job for the Thieves Guild there, Nilkas met a pair of younger shady individuals in the Rusted Blade in Kaledorei. He is informed ahead of time that these individuals paid extra to have no questions asked of them. As they approach the storefront, they are joined by a fourth, and Nilkas can make out a flash of steel. They ask Nilkas to remain outside and watch for guards before drawing their blades and heading inside.
He can make out a warning that the store owner is "three weeks late", and "you know how much trouble that causes for the boss?". He keeps listening in, and thinks he hears the clank of armor in the distance, casting Mage Armor to prepare himself, but doesn't see anything.
A few moments later, he's approached by a woman in a mask who holds him at crossbow-point, wanting to know his relationship to the men inside, and after a short conversation, Nilkas lets her inside, deciding that, since she clearly isn't a guard, that she falls outside the conditions of his hiring. He follows her inside.
The Blind Tailor
Once inside, Strix levels her hand crossbow at the apparent leader of the group, instructing him to surrender and to leave the poor lady alone. He impolitely refused, and things very quickly got loud as the would-be thieves scattered, with the leader catching a crossbow bolt in the chest as he tried to duck behind the counter and take the shopkeeper hostage.
To make matters more complicated, the noise that Nilkas heard earlier turned out to be the guards. When Nilkas opened the door and welcome them in, he instead caught a gauntlet to the face as the guard intended to knock on the door.
Nilkas and Bronzewing immediately surrendered, and the two thieves took off into the back room, looking for another door.
After the guards sorted the situation out and apprehended two of the thieves (one successfully hid in the back room), they led the two men out of the building while Strix and Nilkas stood by. It didn't take long for one of the men to whisper something in a guard's ear and promptly be let go.
Strix and Nilkas were able to interrogate the one remaining thief after confirming the shop owner was uninjured. While the man didn't have anything useful for the group (he was only just recruited that afternoon, and it wasn't like he could turn down the chance at some extra coin, what with his sick child and all), the tailor informed them that this was the usual arrangement - the lead thief was the only one that ever returned, bringing different a posse of hired hands each time.
Fireflies
After finishing up in the shop, Nilkas took Strix to the market district to get in contact with a Firefly named Krea, who was able to tell the pair that the person heading the group was probably named Leif, who is in charge of ground operations in the city, and told them that the group's actual leaders are located more in Cenorias, but that the pair might be able to find more details on their operations on the south side of town, closer to the river.
Before going in that direction though, and in exchange for his help today, Strix offered to accompany Nilkas to a grove he'd been hearing rumors about somewhere northeast of Kaledorei.
Strix's Notes
I’ve decided this will be where I document the developments of Bronzewing. I will try to be brief to save space. The past eight months have been spent training for this moment, practicing knife techniques, crossbowmanship, climbing, and training Artyom. Tomorrow night shall be my first outing. I know a few shops where the Circle runs a protection racket. I shall observe them and see if I can put a stop to any crime, and maybe find some information to see how deep this all goes. Somebody needs to put a stop to the corruption in this town, but Erastil help me, I’ve never done anything like this before…

Gilemdir's Leatherworks
Dear gods that was nerve wracking. Found the Circle at The Blind Tailor, stopped them mid robbery. A man named Nilkas Lavigne was with them, he helped me out. Led me to a Firefly, found out local Circle leader is named Leif. His boss is closer to the capitol, and there is more activity to the south near the river to look into. Corruption might go deeper than I thought. I owe Nilkas, seems trustworthy enough. Going to help him explore a spot in The Whispering Plains. Hope I don’t regret it.
I’m nervous, gods grant me luck.
P.S. Shot a man for the first time, and first adventuring job, didn’t expect that!
Nilkas' Notes
Been a While since I’ve written in this and recent events have made me reconsider. Events being I’ve made a friend that doesn’t want to backstab me or use me for money.
It all started when I took a job to lookout for the guards on what seemed to be debt collection. The guys were giving this poor blind tailor a hard time. I could tell she didn’t have the money but was asked to do the job. “Sadly” the talks were going nowhere, roundabout arguments, and a searing headache caused me to not help. Then this small lass with a mask and a crossbow pointed at me asked for entrance. Still green I saw, the crossbow was shakin’ a bit, but not what I was asked to lookout for. Seeing as it wasn’t my job I let her in. Those nerves she had quickly passed when she fired that bolt into one of the men. Had to stop myself laughing on that one. Soon of course the fun had to stop and the guards came by. I told them the fun was ending and placed myself out of the way. They were summarily rounded up and placed in custody. This lass named Strix did vouch for me and said she owed me. Seeing as I knew that there was a secret at The Whispering Plains I figured it’d be nice to have a companion to check it out.
