• Point out that guards here and there are pointing them out and waving to them in greeting. News from the gate appears to be traveling fast, and they've gained a little renown

The Sapphire Torch

Players are aware of a blood splatter on the wall of The Sapphire Torch's hideout in Cenorias

• It would seem they arrived successfully, but were hurt in the process
• Astrid was badly injured in the teleport, she's with a chiurgeon
• The circle was put in off of a scroll Harlow had picked up one day, was meant to be used only in an emergency, and its pretty obvious it wasn't copied quite right

Status Report

• Freyja - Present, lying low
  • not sure if any of her former military buddies would recognize her
• Harlow - Present, lying low
  • he's not sure if anyone will recognize him after his part in Session 20 - Nathaniel's Nightmare
• Calder - Present, not happy about it
  • He scared some woman and she called the guards on him basically as soon as he entered the city
  • Freyja had to talk them down
• Astrid - in town, unconscious, being tended to
• Bo - out, probably spying on someone or another

VERY impressed by the dragon kill

• Obviously shame that Kaledorei was destroyed
• Why did this even happen? (hopefully cue the players blaming Lucien Vanko, and Nathaniel Fawkesmoore by extension)
• Hopefully the Tuners are brought up, and even that they players noticed that maintenance team in an earlier session

[!] Bo is already looking into the connections between the dragon, Lucien, and Nathaniel, he's supposed to be reporting in sometime fairly soon - come back in a couple days to see what he's learned....

• Nathaniel seems to have been let off earlier today, think his carriage is getting ready to head back to Kaledorei, not that he's got much to return to

Nathaniel

The players are probably going to want to intercept him, huh?

• Its not hard, he's barely left
  He's in mixed spirits, quite a bit more down now that he's been ambushed again, though
• His town is gone, reduced to ashes
• Which means his prospects at making any money in the near future aren't great
• Buuuuut, he's been let off by the the Advisors, namely Fulvia, which is pretty neat
  • Why was he let off[?]

This guy is in no mood or position to fight back, he's even less protected than he was last time and has very little to lose, he urges the guards to surrender

What does he even know?

• He's got to tell them something or another about the Scarlet Circle, and Lucien more specifically [?]
• He does legitimately regret losing the town, and blames himself for some of it
• Maybe point out that he thinks its weird that Aurelia Stormrune wanted to trade for magical artifacts - kinda seems like they'd have a bunch of their own
  • Maybe Nils would have some additional knowledge [?]

Jade

• She's playing chess with herself in the park
  • She's setup a meeting with The King's Court tomorrow under the pretenses that they should meet the great heroes who felled the dragon that destroyed Kaledorei
• Tell them to be wary of some of the Advisors, hinting that they might be connected to the Circle.. but its only a suspicion, she hasn't made any real connections yet
  • What's making her suspicious [?]
  • This justifies her wanting to have the party meet them though, she wants a second set of eyes
• She can give the players a quick rundown on (her view of) the advisors to familiarize them
  • Midas - "You've already met him. He's rich, and proud, and always keeps the coffers full. He's also smart, always looking for a deal or a favor, and always looking to tip the scales more into his favor. I wouldn't make a deal with him unless you can guarantee it will work out for you, because if not, he's going to make sure it works out for him."
  • Brutus - "You've met him too. He's a strong tactician, and knows his way around the battlefield. He acts nice, and plays things close to the chest. Really, of the four, I think I know the least about him, and I work with him most days."
  • Judas - "He's a follower of Sarenrae and he's.. got opinions, and is not afraid to share them. I uh.. don't like him, or some of his ideas, but he's easily the most honest person there, and he keeps the people around him honest."
  • Fulvia - "She's the only one on the council that's from out of the country, and the only woman. She left Qilaw because of the stranglehold religion has over the country, and pushes back against Judas the most for obvious reasons. I don't think she has any love for her old country, so the fact that she still deals with them often as our foreign relations advisor shows how good she is at lying through her teeth."
• Where is Rodfyr Regulus during this whole time [?]
  • Probably don't want him in this meeting, would pretty obviously connect him with Jade

The King's Court

• Fulvia is the main talker here, ever the diplomat
• What are their opinions of Jade?
• They want to offer the players a reward for saving part of their territory (examples)

  • Land?
  • Gold (like 10k each?)
  • Humanitarian aid?
    • lmao, they won't do this
  • Info on the Scarlet Circle?

    • Not even that much to learn..

    • Mostly lets everyone else fight it out, unless it costs money
    • Then he's worried about how much the nation is going to be paid
    • "How much do you think Thynnon would pay for a fresh... ish dragon corpse?"
  • Brutus
    • Talks a lot, doesn't say much
    • Doesn't push for conflict

    • He's watching the other members of the council almost more than he's watching the players
      • Nils does seem to have caught his eye though

    • Interested in Nils' tats (if he has them out)
    • Talks over (or down to) Strix and Fulvia
    • Calls anyone on their dishonesty
  • Fulvia
    • She hedges her bets a lot, doesn't really take sides if any disagreements break out, unless its to combat Judas, which she will happily do.
    • Otherwise has (outwardly) high opinions of the other council members, and of Jade
    • Willing to do the most for the PCs, believes they could become a useful ally, at least until they show how little they trust the leadership

  • Taking it to a taxidermist and a tannery for the head and leather respectively
