Organization Progression

Session Points

  • Contacting Jade and Kaledorei, then downtime

What happened with Lucien [?]

  • He had left to Tucker Mine like 3 weeks ago, gotta be waking up the dragon at some point
  • He has no idea whats happened to Nathaniel, and if he's actually jailed, might just split - or even try to take over the town

What's happened with the Torch [?]

  • They lied and posed as auditors for the party
  • Harlow helped them find the hideout in Cenorias, and he knows about the alliance with Aurelia Stormrune

What's happened with Kaledorei [?]

  • Nathaniel probably left someone in charge - who[?]
    • How loyal are they? There are still some Scarlet Circle in town
  • Its been longer tdhan he was supposed to be gone, what's happened in the meantime[?]

What's happened with the Scarlet Circle [?]

  • Gotta get moving on them, Jade was supposed to figure out more about them in Cenorias, how successful was she?

    • Its possible that her looking into them may have driven them deeper underground
    • They have known dealings with Scorpion gangs
  • Need to know more about the dynamics of The King's Court

  • Does the party have a name? The Motley Few? The Gruesome Twosome?
  • Strix and Gerome are [wanted] right now (for attacking Nathaniel on the road)
    • Need to verify who they are right now (I believe they're Viridian and whatever Nils named his new identity)
  • They gain [12,800 XP] each from last session

Cenorias

  • When they contact Jade they get caught up on what's happened in Cenorias while they were out
    • Nathaniel showed up, told the guards he was attacked, and there was an alarm called
    • He was rushed to the Spire for more protection
    • Later, he asked to see Midas to deal with the audit he was here for
    • When he went to see him, the whole thing with the airport came out
      • None of this was a real problem, as expected
      • But the dealing with a foreign nation was
    • Over the past week or so, he's been in closed hearings with Midas and Fulvia trying to figure out the extent of what's been happening under their noses
      • The hearings obviously have guards posted
      • Just in case they investigate:
        • Clearly they're trying to work out how this could work well for them, and the only real trouble Nathaniel is in is that he didn't tell anyone before going through with it
        • The relics that Nathaniel was intending on providing come from Tucker Mine, and he reveals that he's already dispatched some allies to retrieve them
        • Fulvia is interested in the potential alliances that could be forged between Tarawn and The Kingdom of Thynnon using this Aurelia Stormrune
        • Midas is interested in the potential increase in trade and information flow that could result in travelers having faster access to the country - clearly it means they need to invest more heavily in Kaledorei, and if this "pilot" project works out well, perhaps leveraging the The Silver Spire's own airship dock for something similar
        • Nathaniel Fawkesmoore is really only interested in how well this is going for him, and is mostly sitting back and letting the other two talk
  • As for Scarlet Circle… Jade has bad news
    • Many of the guards she asked about the group grew quiet pretty quickly, and now she's having to look deeper into those guard's income and actions, just in case
    • Because she's gotten so little useful information from the people who work under her, she's had to go out and ask normal citizens, and the ones that didn't nervously praise the group for "uhh.. protecting them!?" had "something else urgent to get back to" in the opposite direction
    • She's started to question a little more directly, but its pretty obvious that the populace is scared, and the guards are uncomfortable discussing them, likely because they're involved themselves
    • Unknown how deep it runs, but she's reluctant to start asking the leadership and upper class citizens as she doesn't want to start burning bridges over this, since many of those alliances are also how she keeps the city safe.
    • As far as notable experiences with gang activity go, she's personally heard that crime in the city has been going down of late, but the existence of all this crime in her city and kingdom is definitely enough to make her uncomfortable, and a little suspicious of those who are leading the city
  • If they go to meet Jade Regulus in person, they see her outside The Silver Spire in a park. She's playing a huge version of chess with an older (late 50's, early 60s) man wearing an eyepatch (its hiding a magic eye) in full plate with two great swords strapped to his back. This is Brutus (loud and outwardly friendly, but careful to not reveal anything). Its clear from the chess game that he's kicking Jade's ass, and Jade has no idea how (she's focusing on the board much more than on the PCs at the start)

Kaledorei

  • [?]

Downtime

PC Goals
  • Nils is training with Jade
    • Need to give them a place to do so
  • Strix is retraining a feat (to Accomplished Sneak Attacker)
    • Also looking into Lief's kids
    • Also looking into the Scorpion gangs that tried to kill them
    • Also getting involved with the Thieves Guild
      • sidequests
      • subterfuge
Nilkas
  • He can spar with Jade in the barracks
  • Jade doesn't find this all that entertaining though, and asks if he wants to kick it up a notch
  • She can take him northeast to a pseudo-slum in the city
    • On the way, [DC15 Knowledge (Engineering)] to notice that the paving on the roads is wearing thin, and that a lot of the pre-planned-ness of the main city isn't present, this area was an expansion of the main city
    • This place was made to house refugees, and eventually the wall around the city was also expanded to incorporate the people here. The housing is cheap, but most of the citizenry doesn't like to come this way, and not just because they're afraid of getting mugged, they don't like thinking about the fact that people can be living like this in the same city
  • She stops at one of these dilapidated (two story) buildings, unlocking a lock that looks a little out of place against the backdrop
    • Inside are a number of targets, some with blackened holes burned clean through them, many of them clearly patched back together after having been destroyed
    • The ceiling of the first floor has been taken out
    • There is a padded mat rolled up against one of the walls that she unrolls in the center of the room

Honestly, once they're alone together Jade probably has the opportunity to vent about how fed up she is with most of the Court treating her like she's a nobody, stopping just short of saying she's royalty (again)

[?]

Strix

Retraining a feat takes 5 days
She can run into the head of a rival Thieves' Guild (based out of Qilaw) in Elysium Baths talking (somewhat) loudly with her wife about how the Guild in Bremoor mucked up recently and had one of their shipments stolen, how they lost a lot of trust and how good that was for business

  • Guild leader: Juliana Duststone (power bottom)
Dwarf, Short golden blonde hair, stockier build
Hiding a knife below the water
  • Guild quartermaster: Dralda Brandywood
Halfling, large scar on neck, long auburn hair, tattoo of a spider on her back?
Inventive, not much of a talker

Get told about an art exhibit, to ask for Whispering Gallery
Guy pointed her to a nearby alley with a hidden door that took her to the guild in the city

Dragon

  • Dragon is going to be waking up this session, maybe at the end?
